Are YOU For R.E.A.L.?
Do you thoroughly enjoy the company of teenagers?
Do you believe that the opportunity to open minds is a privilege?
Do you work from the belief that teaching is a true artistic practice, requiring an attitude of discovery, inquiry, creative problem-solving and the capacity to freestyle beyond compare?
Can you demonstrate authentic “cultural competency” when working with colleagues, students and parents?
If you answered YES to all of the above, then REAL Prep may be for you.
Interested teachers are strongly encouraged to look at the Get Involved section and see if there are any opportunities to familiarize yourself with the development process over the 2010-2011 year. We are currently seeking volunteers and also have some limited paid contractor positions to fill as we pilot our program.
REAL Prep has not begun a formal hiring process for the 2011-12 school year. Letters of Inquiry, Resumes and Portfolios are being accepted for review on an on-going basis. If sending information to us at this time, please include a biographical statement that tells why you are interested in REAL Prep and why you think REAL Prep would be a good match for your skills.
As a public charter school REAL Prep will be hiring full and half-time positions in three categories:
Licensed High School Teachers - Teachers must hold an Oregon License or make sure that their license can transfer to Oregon.
Registered Teachers - Adults with expertise in their fields and college level credits or B.A.’s in a specific area such as Literature or Biology may be hired by a Charter School as long as the individual meets TSPC determination for charter school registered teachers.
Career-Technical Educators - As REAL Prep develops our CTE program we will be looking for CTE professionals already holding a license or eligible for a license.
If you have any questions about your eligibility to teach in an Oregon Charter School please contact Oregon Teachers Standards and Practices at http://www.tspc.state.or.us prior to applying to REAL Prep.
If you do not qualify for a formal teaching position, it is still possible to be a part of the REAL Prep workforce by applying for project-specific contract work. REAL Prep is founded on the belief that students learn from many perspectives. Our school is designed for practicing artists and professionals to teach classes and workshops to our students both on and off-site. For more information on how to submit a project proposal please contact us at email@example.com or at 971-678-5344.
